The World War I ended, and many soldiers had died. The conception of Unknown Soldier for the first time appeared in UK and France. Sooner the Lion Monument of Unknown Soldier was also built in Sofia.
But Sofia people didn’t like it very much. Bulgaria was defeated. The Unknown Soldier sounded like a shame… sounded like we weren’t able to honor our fallen sons… Then the Lion, the very Bulgarian symbol, was laying…! Come on how is it possible? He must be brave, and powerful, and even angry!
One night he jumped from his place, crossed the road, and disappeared. People saw him here and there, from time to time…but they also said that the regime had dismissed him.
The officials built another monument (an eternal fire replaced the lion)
Years passed… Bulgaria became a democratic state and one night the lion came back and laid next to the monument
Even made some friends.
